PERSEVERANCE

PERSEVERANCE in reference to the highly publicized mission to the planet Mars and its "star": its robotic rover in charge of collecting samples! A nod to an unpublished space odyssey as a pretext for a broader reflection on the theme of perseverance here below! Because, while the incredible adventure of achieving such an "extraterrestrial" feat is exciting, even without taking into account the question of costs or ethics in relation to the essential priorities of the most disadvantaged, it is at least as interesting to look at what drives and stimulates the research and investment at the source of this type of project. Not because the expected results are devoid of multiple and varied interests, but because diving into the cerebral mechanisms of the insatiable curiosity proudly displayed by our species or exploring the neurochemical meanders of the fascination aroused by the unknown and questioning the ins and outs of the human psyche, raises the question of the motivations for the quest for ever more distant horizons in which many hopes are placed... In short, instead of the much coveted utopia, it would also be welcome to consider the current planetary challenges with as much fervor, coherence and financial means by refocusing priorities on the essential. In this sense, the faculty of a humanity capable of persevering would be enhanced by systematically tackling daily survival problems in the four corners of the planet. In other words, it is equally important to lay the foundations for a broader reflection on perseverance, its virtues and its consequences in many areas. … Curious by nature, the human being is an adventurer and explorer with the ability to conquer, colonize and exploit what he appropriates... Thus, he has managed to extend his territory to the entire planetary globe without this seeming to be enough for him, if the human odyssey must necessarily go through the intergalactic journey to satisfy his curiosity of spirit, one should not forget to consider the state of mind too often "badly positioned, if not badly intended" which animates this phantasmagorical quest for a salutary Eden for the species! Quite a debate! So, I leave you to your personal cogitations! (lol) - The theme of perseverance is also the one that will have guided the realization of the various projects of the past year 2020. Believe it or not, it took some! (lol) And it is still by showing perseverance that the adventure continues in total independence. By redoubling the ingenuity and resourcefulness that were inherent in the initial conception of the NéMéSiS-303 project, its sustainability has been an ongoing challenge since the start of operations in "free electron" mode! (lol) However, if the assumed "autarky" is a good thing, at the same time, it reduces, restricts and "shrinks" some of the advantages provided by the opposite attitude. The realities of the world are what they are. And even if the success or commercialization of electronic experimentation is neither among the pretensions nor among the vital priorities, the inescapable "economic factor" nevertheless remains inseparable from their "showcasing" at the heart of the equation to be solved... Because, even without being directly impacted, production costs will sooner or later be passed on to other intermediaries at some point in time, at other levels. Also, even if I am fortunate enough to benefit from the support of digital patrons with a concrete focus on the human and artistic, the autonomy of the project is constrained by the return on investment. What's more, its development implies benefiting from more and more exposure, media coverage, clicks, likes, etc. This is how the system works. And yet, by dint of perseverance, I try to demonstrate the opposite by sticking to the line of conduct dictated by common sense and ethics of a project that has no other ambition than to exist soberly! (lol) … Finally, if all this is approached as it is, it is because initially supposed to open a concept album using the Mars Perseverance mission as a pretext, the track PERSEVERANCE that I chose to submit to you this week is an extract of this multifaceted project. A project that I spontaneously put on the side because its theme has become very/too fashionable these days! Not to mention that some artists (and not the least) have made it a favorite theme ...
