What meaning should be given to "musical art"?

Fusticated at its beginnings, ELECTRONiC MUSiC, in its various forms, is now displayed, to the great displeasure of the defenders of a "sacrosanct" culture frozen in its own stereotypes, as a contemporary art, if not "major", at least unavoidable!

So what meaning can be given to this form of expression, in its most danceable version, to the reputation, if not "thunderous or crazy", at least "festive"?

Let's try some elements of analysis here...

Emanating from an increased use of new technologies in full expansion, the "ELECTRONiC" (TECHNO) sound on which all generations and all cultures are now wiggling and blowing themselves away all over the planet is not only the product of a musical trend that has become very popular since the industry has taken hold of it...

Indeed, the ever-increasing number of fans of whirling sinusoidal sounds with powerful basses are not only "clubbers" frantically waving their arms in the air, repeating in their own way the ancestral rites of hypnotic dancing and trance practiced since the dawn of mankind!

Behind the appearances of these inveterate partygoers are also individuals, characters, groups of friends, the fruit of bounds formed there, communities, cultures, histories, emotions, in short human lives confronted with the complexity of the world. Also, the nightly parties broadcasting the striking sound of repetitive music synthesized on machines are not only psychedelic versions of "midnight masses with a 2.0 sauce" gathering crowds as heterogeneous as they are hysterical, eager for sensations and strong emotions... We are talking here about real "secular communions" phenomena!

Reflecting an era bathed in a turbulent historical, sociological and cultural context, if there is one virtue attributed to electro culture it is that of gathering and union all around, far beyond the "jewel" of differences!

And indeed, on closer examination, much more than a futile entertainment, a "crazy" fun or a sterile outlet, the electronic movement proves to be conducive to mixing, sharing, tolerance and "SECULAR" COMMUNION!

Carrying within it the seeds of significant stimulating effects (psycho?), the electronic melody energizes, unites, rallies, branches and connects like no other!

Just like the rock'n'roll, the hippie movement, the punk or the hip-hop culture, the techno genre, born and inspired by the aftermath of industrial and societal changes in the United States & Europe, probably has much more to tell about the current world than it would seem at first sight. And indeed, if we take the trouble to try to decipher what is behind the "frenzy" of electronic sounds, we can perhaps also detect the quest for the emancipation of communities of individuals in love with freedom and questioning in the face of a hostile and voracious environment! Music finds its place, not as a remedy, but as a complement, an accompaniment to the full course of life of those who know how to "dose" and feed themselves judiciously with the pleasure provided by the repercussion of sound waves on their beings, their bodies, their nervous and cerebral structures!

In other words, beyond deceptive appearances and reductive shortcuts: listening, dancing and letting off steam on repetitive music synthesized by machines causing a moderate form of "temporary alienation" would not be incompatible with the idea of being "well" in one's body, "well in one's head", or even with the notion of brain maintenance! "All the subtlety lies in learning to use it wisely!" As always, of course! And that's probably where things get a bit more complicated! Shocking concept for some, interesting reflection for others, would electronic music be simply as virtuous as that in practice? At the same time, it would be "utopian" if not naive to think that the "power" of music is only "benevolent"! At least, humans being what they are, it would be an illusion to believe that the musical stimulant is the only trigger of behaviours and saving phenomena of a psyche and emotions whose schooling is done in sawtooth, to the small happiness the luck! In short, no angelism around the TECHNO movement, no more than around any other movement, nevertheless without evading here the fact that MUSiC can also serve as a pretext for reflection, discernment, sharing, pacifist, empathic and tolerant gathering as well as the development of individuals and communities!!!

So, without any demagogy or pretension, the NéMéSiS-303 project is simply in line with this current of thought by constantly seeking a coherent, concrete, positive attitude that does not hide the negative, but that keeps the objective of the happy medium in sight!
