"Open-hearted, open-throat thinking!"

iNDiGNATiON (2020/05/01) : https://song.link/05qd69f3mrrfk

You're probably wondering what the hell went through his head...? Why do you call a piece of techno music "iNDiGNATiON"? Why not, by the way? So, for what? What's the point? First of all, maybe because the notion of "mixing genres" is at the heart of the evolution of our societies! Then, because wiggling around for more than 9 minutes on an "engaging" track is not incompatible with a bit of brain gymnastics as far as I know! The body and the head in movement, it can even sometimes make things move forward... In short, in any case, without pretension or demagogy, the idea is above all to give a little more meaning to the "artistic" and musical approach! It is perhaps also a way of forcing a deeper reflection on the meaning of words and what they can represent to us. At least for those who will be interested, who will be questioned before, during or after being transported, intoxicated by the proposed sound sinusoids...

Let's move on. Why the word indignation then?

  • Firstly, probably because knowing what it's like to feel this feeling of revolt and anger is reminiscent of the emergence of an "underground" Techno movement that had made it its leitmotiv! This raises the legitimate question of the values embodied by a musical movement that has gone from the status of "crazy and ephemeral weirdness" to that of a "bankable" cultural product!

  • Secondly, because, unfortunately, there is still no shortage of subjects for protest and reprobation today despite major advances in certain areas. Every second that passes, the "dignity of man and of humanity" is violated in its flesh, in the depths of its entrails! The barbarity of extreme thinking, the shameful savagery of our eating habits, the globalized financial model set up as the standard bearer of civilizational progress, limitless consumerism, pollution of all kinds at every level, stationary policies when everything remains to be done, famine, thirst, torture, human rights, inequalities, injustices, slavery in all its forms, the economy at the exclusive service of the economy, ecology that has become a marketing object rather than a vital emergency...

In the end, beyond all polemics, whether older or more recent, the notion of indignation, as a viscerally felt emotion, resonates in the bowels of the very foundations of humanity, a "social" group based on the assent of the members of its community... A principle rallied to the codes of conducts and behaviours determined by the ethical values of the group in question, if indignation and its manifestations remain non-violent, pacifist and constructive, then they also reinforce the idea of a respect for oneself and for others that is fundamental in terms of attitudes, morals and societal developments.

In conclusion: if a parallel can be drawn between indignation for various reasons, feelings of anger and revolt, the emotions aroused and the "non-conformist" seeds of a techno protest movement, it is because this movement has made the notion of "resistance" the manifesto of an "underground" counterculture! And this, even if we are currently entitled to ask ourselves what happened to the rebellious, protestant, anti-system, anti-"star-system" spirit of the movement at its beginnings?

Also, if it is always time to take action, no matter at what level or in what field, it is up to each one to act with prudence and reason, in soul and conscience... Far from me the idea of any form of proselytism, yet it is still important for me to say that commitment can only be on the scale of the "hummingbird and its fable"! With the help of the "domino" or "butterfly" effect, it is with often unsuspected repercussions that the future of humanity is suspended... From that, as from many other things, we must remain conscious, attentive, preventive, vigilant, benevolent actors!

To meditate...
