  • "Happy Sobriety" as a leitmotiv, that is to say to be satisfied with little, to use what one has, to be satisfied with what one has at hand at a lower cost, to be curious, inventive, resourceful and to take pleasure in finding solutions rather than hoping for better, to delegate or to invest time, energy or money in what is not a priori essential to find one's happiness...

  • Do not expect anything from others, but bet everything on yourself! In other words, give yourself the means to achieve your modest ambitions by trying to do the best you can in a transparent manner. This implies tenacity, self-sacrifice and a lot of effort. Nevertheless, the reward lies in the investment alone if it is made with passion and a good dose of reason! In this sense, the final result does not matter as long as the work done constitutes an accomplishment in itself.

  • Operating in "freewheel" mode and, in a way, in "quasi-autonomy", is to offer oneself the appreciable luxury of freedom and independence! Although the consequences are not, the choice is easy enough to make, however it necessarily implies structuring and organizing both the process and the approach of a process comparable to walking forward on the steep paths of a mountain where the summit is not the ultimate goal to be reached since the simple fact of walking and wandering at will while tracing one's own path is already a privilege in itself. You just need to be able to adapt to any situation, to anticipate and to develop a better "sense of direction..." (If you still follow me in my metaphors... (lol))

  • Structuring and organizing oneself means setting objectives, establishing a roadmap, clarifying the course of action and developing appropriate methods. It is therefore to conceive the task in the image of a learning process based as much on discovery and experience as on the acquisition of knowledge and techniques. In other words, it is a matter of building an environment adapted to evolve while seeking to extract the potential of the means and time available.

  • In short! The site was made with the means at hand! The graphic design (also submitted to a self-taught approach) having evolved according to the tools of the public domain and the learning of their use. Compromise is also a must when it comes to electronic music production! No latest hardware or software solutions, a minimal configuration far from the current standards, an "old school" approach in the idea of exploring and experimenting behind the scenes of the machines at the source of sounds and electronic melodies more and more assisted, if not automated...

  • In short, no superfluous investments, no recent versions of the computer equipment, obsolete material in more than one way (you have to see the state of the headphones used! (lol)), recovery, recycling, sometimes DIY too, but certainly good will, humility and also a bit of "reticence" in front of the uses of technologies and contemporary customs as regards composition and musical expression...

When it is not a "catch-22", self-production having become a profitable sector in its own right for Web companies, the production of electronic music by "independent" artists is quite comparable to the practices of "mass distribution"! "Widespread and flooding the musical and artistic landscape, each often seeking to make a profit, if not lucrative, at least "food", the self-production in "free wheel" seems however to be a concept as laudable as seductive. However, as in many other fields, the mass, the number suffocating the individuals, there is never that a minority which reaches a wider public since all became a question of visibility, marketing and promotion! When it is not about lobbying, unfair interests at stake, or even cheating or scamming subscribers, followers and other positions in the charts diverted or bought on the Net...

Anyway, the starting postulate of the NéMéSiS-303 project is based on a strategy of functioning outside the conventional circuits. Because there is always a way to do things differently! And this is precisely what I am trying to demonstrate in my own way, while remaining faithful to my principles, my values and my convictions...

  • The whole approach is comparable to a method of personal development in electronic music...

The pleasure and the reasoned passion are the engines of it!

  • The postulates established frame the process and determine the line of conduct...

  • The material means are derisory but sufficient to emit sound! (lol)

  • The quality and the "finish" of the sound are at the top of the priorities. The line of sight being focused on the will to progress at all levels... Hence the "experimental workshops" as a playground, of tests and evolution!

  • The choice of releasing each production from the beginnings of the project is like a deliberate confrontation with the realities of pre- and post-production, with the idea of taking advantage of the experience accumulated in order to better understand the ins and outs of it.

  • The compromise or the "cobbled together" option to access the various digital platforms is the result of a partnership woven thanks to the intervention of patrons without whom the distribution would never have been possible in this format, nor on so many media!

  • The "promotional" aspect is also carried out with the means at hand in order to reach a wider public and thus allow the survival and the durability of the project as well as of the adventure just started. Built and "viable" without great expense, the project as a whole is however constrained by systemic factors at each stage of the process, and thus notably economic! Also, although I have conceived things "soberly" and although the approach is not mercantile, it would be necessary to allow a minimum return on investment for the dedicated "facilitators"! That's why I try to surf between the conventional ways of doing things without falling into the ways of the music industry and its commercial practices...
