CATASTROPHE!!!

To each his own!

What does the title of this song imply? Is it some kind of manifesto? What is the meaning of this positioning on such a delicate subject, which is moreover at the beginning of an artistic approach and an electronic culture with an unsavoury carbon footprint? Is the environmentalist argument defensible when one comes from a community that abuses itself without worrying too much about the consequences? Would it then be so foolish to allow oneself to support a finding of failure in environmental policy? Certainly, these are totally legitimate questions! Would Greta be for all that the "bird of ill omen" as some people call her by giving her "low blows"? Greta Thunberg is this teenager mocked by the "binary brains" of our societies for her positions and frontal discourse. While she demonstrates her "intelligence" and her "singularity" (do not displease those who think they are intelligent and singular...), she is facing with dignity the contempt and condescension of the stupidest among us! Although they display the greatest incompetence, incoherence and recklessness in their behaviour and words in terms of "common sense", all those who boast of having an adult opinion on her approach would no doubt do well to grow up already! Their "stupidity" becomes a real "handicap" for society as a whole! Those who advise her to go back to school should themselves start there, "you ignorant people!” "HOW DARE YOU?”

♥️ Dear Greta, some "so-called great thinkers" will have pointed the finger at you because you say, "An inconvenient truth!" Al Gore and others will also have been hurt before you. However, you will have had to put up with the "cowardly" and "obnoxious" attitude and the sanctimonious comments of "pseudo-adults" who believe more than anyone else what you should be doing with your life. What a bunch of idiots! Greta, keep being yourself! I don't mind those for whom the "optimistic" vision of an idealized world blinds the critical eye and the inevitably accurate analysis of the environmental situation in the twenty-first century. Shame on them! Affection and respect in return to you Greta and to all those who invest themselves in their daily lives! Among other recognitions and awards, Greta Thunberg will not only have earned her Wikipedia page or the front page of Time Magazine as Personality of the Year, she will have earned the deepest respect of the entire Living Community for her courage and tenacity. Let's hope that her approach will have inspired future generations all over the world. Let us also hope that she will have succeeded in shaking us all! Because, considering the situation, everyone can take a lot for granted! Yes, that's the way it is! Everyone has their share of responsibility! Since we have been on Earth, we have not ceased, if not to waste, at least to be the object of too many wastes! Of course, not every newborn child is born with the firm intention of wasting or neglecting its environment! It would be totally unjust and unjustifiable to make the offspring inherit a burden without having asked for anything! The child in the womb is not pre-formatted for environmental plunder, nor is it yet environmentally conscious. No doubt it learns the rudiments of societal rules from them, by observing the world around it, by integrating it into its flesh, by growing up and deciphering, in its own way, the behaviour of others while imitating them. The responsibility of each one in the dramatic observation of an environment that we mishandle by our lifestyles and actions is then undoubtedly largely attributable to the reproduction of values, gestures and modus vivendi in total contradiction with the conception of a reasoned ecology, or even a philosophy as far as possible "humanistic..."

On the one hand, the "beautiful" part (said here with irony!) to our forefathers who could have done much more than cling to the dogmas of overconsumption, accumulation and possession. The two most horrible and gigantic "carnages" of the last century do not justify in any way the immoderation reached afterwards. Preceding these last ones (who are not to be blamed too much either), the many generations that have, little by little, shaped a certain world order, the common thread running through all the aptitudes and all the turpitudes of humanity! Before them, it was the various so-called "civilizational" models that failed by short-circuiting the order of things inspired by dark "divine" visions.... Anyway... Thanks, guys! Joking aside, we can only note that it is mainly "men", "alpha" males who have dominated the destiny of a humanity in perdition, also because attached to its "phallocracy..." This is a completely different subject that deserves further reflection!

Secondly, our parents, as referents of choice, have also often "failed out of love for us" in order to allow us to subsist. They themselves have wasted so much in order to be able to ensure our growth and autonomy. Whether or not they have been sensitive to the environmental cause does not change the fact that "modernity" has accelerated the deterioration of the environment at a rate exponential for many that was unthinkable until recently.

Is the whole of humanity to blame? Yes and no! No, because it is only very recently that the ecological discourse has been echoing in the ears of our contemporaries. Unfortunately, it has taken far too long for consciences to awaken. Indeed, the (eco)systemic conception does not date from yesterday... It has been centuries, if not millennia, that men and women, philosophers, scientists as well as "simple individuals" have been evoking globality to us! Only it was not until the diffusion of the photos taken during the Apollo missions that the "holistic" and "environmentalist" vision of a unique planet lost in the heart of the vastness of space was shown to the whole of humanity. Its fragility too! It is a pity that it has been a long time since ecology has (perhaps) finally been able to leave its mark on present and future decisions, if not in terms of politics, at least at the level of each and every one of us. Hope when you keep us alive!

So, while waiting to take action, even modestly, each and every one of us at our own level, let's also take advantage of this opportunity to disconnect ourselves after having been somewhat "serious" and, in this way, let's re-stimulate ourselves after this "pamphlet with a charge!”
